Polaroids

Project Description

My work is primarily focused on digital technologies.  However, in Polaroids I look back at the earliest instant photo technologies, the SX-70 camera.  The work is immediate and unpredictable.  Counter to digital imaging each image is an original.  The Polaroid series reflect my interest in abstraction, formalism and indeterminacy.  The photos are out of focus or completely non-representational. This work is informed by mid-twentieth century artists such as Mark Rothko and Alfred Stieglitz.
