Facades was written in 1981 for the film KOYAANISQATSI (1982) and subsequently discarded from the final cut.

The piece references the rhythm of the facades of buildings. Referencing this I collected images from the Internet of building facades and animated segments and slices in 3D computer graphics. The video is to be played as a large screen projection behind the musicians during the performance.
